Axiom - Sea to Sky Project

Generating Solution for the Client

Seeing the full scope of this project by air. In order to provide feedback to my team in Ontario, I charted a private plane and filmed the area by air so I could present to my bosses in Toronto the size and scope of this project. It was necessary to do this as the owners did not have this level of experience or know how as they only conducted security in the physical security guard space. I was introducing them to a different world of integrated security and to build a business case of a holistic security approach using layers and technology to see security through the lens of environmental design (CPTED). This was an important next step to carve out our business niche, making us different then other security providers in British Columbia.

Reviewing Site Phases for Planning

Reviewing the site phases to ensure I am planning the equipment changes and additions appropriately to the site needs. I will be doing a check-in quite frequently during the days, weeks and months when the weather is good as construction sites are more productive during the good weather periods.

Check-in Full-site Review

Because the site changes and updates so rapidly, I have to make sure I am in constant communication with the client and my team to ensure I update Post Orders for the on-site Security Guards and to plan changes for the CCTV cameras and the Monitoring Station to ensure they are up to date with the changes on the ground. The Escalation Protocols for the most part typically stay the same, but can change. However, as the site develops, then material and equipment assets move and new vulnerable areas pop up, and previous vulnerable areas are no longer applicable, so retraining and developing of new Post Orders are critical to ensure the Security Guard Team does not stay complacent. Additionally, things like fire extinguishers, first aid rooms, guard stations, parking areas change their locations and we have to make sure our maps reflect these changes as best practice and to ensure the Monitoring Station Operators are up to date with the changes on the ground. Many companies forget to do this or take this for granted and if they do that long enough, the client will move onto a different security provider.
